After semi packing, or at least putting the entire contents of our backpacks onto the bed and staring in amazement, we walked into the city of Brisbane and spent 6 hours in the cyber cafe. I managed to upload my journal entries to 4 February 2003 which was fairly good progress.
We had a small dinner at a 24 hour street cafe and then I returned to the YHA to do some laundry and left Ian to return to the cyber cafe. As I walked back, in the warm evening air, I felt a twig of leaf on my big toe and shook it off. I was pretty surprised to turn to see a big cockroach scurrying away!
With the laundry complete, the extra book that I had acquired from the Drifters tour exchanged for one at the YHA, and Ian returned to base, we tucked into our final bottle of Wolf Blass, of which a large proportion was spilled onto the carpet by Ian, and I finished reading my book.
